History
Colwick Hall Hotel is a Palladian style Georgian Country House that dates back to 1775 it is a grade II listed building.
It’s said to apparently be an ancestral home for Lord Byron (although I’m still looking into that as I thought his ancestral home was Newstead Abbey).
The Hall was stormed and set alight by a mob during the second reformed bill disturbance in 1832, to escape the mob Mary Ann Chaworth and her daughter in behind bushes so not to be found, reportedly this event took its toll on Mary and she sadly passed away 4 months later at Wiverton Hall (going to look into this one too, to see if we can do a link between them)
Reported Activity
The apparition of Mary Ann Chaworth is apparently seen in the grounds trying to hide behind trees and bushes.
Witnesses have claimed to hear footsteps and the sound of children laughing and playing in the corridors.
Also people have heard strange voices coming from the servant’s quarters.
